Then
Founded in 1996 in the vibrant city of Melbourne and what was once the hear of Melbourne fashion, Bridge Road, Bardot quickly became a beloved name among Australian women. The brand was established with a clear vision; to embody women's empowerment through thoughtfully curated, playful, and bespoke pieces that serves as an extension of our unique personalities.

Now
In 2004, Bardot unveiled Bardot Junior, a first-of-its-kind division for children's fashion. With an eye for style, Bardot Junior inspired the imaginations of little ones and captured the spirit of youth, while bringing a smile of nostalgia to parents. Bardot Junior continues to create investment pieces for families, a mix of effortless essentials and statement occasion pieces, always and forever each crafted with luxurious sensibilities.

While our foundational DNA remains intact, we have embraced our role as a catalyst for change, championing slow fashion and advocating for ethical, sustainable practices. Our commitment then, as it is now, is to design garments that resonate with women and families who wish to express their individuality through fashion.

Designed locally in Melbourne, Victoria, all of our designs are first imagined here in our head office, where our pattern makers and machinists work to bring our sample creations to life. Home to our fabric archives, our design space is rich in creativity and a constant hub of activity.

Anchored in exceptional craftsmanship and timeless designs that celebrate life's significant moments. We remain steadfast in our commitment to reducing our environmental footprint and positively contributing to both people and the planet.

A Word from Our Founder and Creative Director “Carol words”
“Design from the heart. I am excited to wake up and design fresh new ideas, and I feel this is my chance to create a vision with no limitations— timeless, high-quality, and thoughtful designs, bringing Bardot closer to where it truly belongs. I woke up one morning and decided to do what I had always envisioned—creating more considered garments that prioritise quality over quantity, reflecting a more thoughtful, conscious approach to fashion. This is my chance to take the brand to a new and next generation of fashion."
